As a Communications Assistant with MSU Residential and Hospitality Services Marketing Communications (RHSMC), a handful of my projects focused on writing releases and alerts, and on developing media lists or conducting media relations. Two stand-out projects included support of the office’s sustainable campus dining initiative (Green Dining) and the Spartan Neighborhood Pilot Program, originally the Hubbard Pilot Program.

Key coverage for “Green Dining” included: NACUFS (online), Campus Dining Today (print), On-Campus Hospitality (print), and College Planning & Management (print), among others. [View release.]

Key coverage for the “Pilot Program” included: The State News and WILX-TV, among others. [View advisory.]

With each new concert booking, it was my job as an intern to research media (digital, print and radio) in the surrounding location. Once the list was developed, I wrote, distributed and conducted follow-up on press releases for each show. The sample release linked below was for Lady Antebellum's appearance at the Midland County Fair.
